Chronic Sinusitis
01Chronic sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses lasting more than 12 weeks. Symptoms include facial pressure, nasal blockage, thick discharge and reduced sense of smell. Dr. Prashanth treats it with medical therapy first and endoscopic sinus surgery when needed.
Hearing Loss
02Hearing loss can be conductive, sensorineural or mixed. Comprehensive assessment includes audiometry, tympanometry and imaging. Treatment ranges from medical management to microscopic or endoscopic ear surgery and hearing rehabilitation.
Tinnitus
03Tinnitus is the perception of ringing, buzzing or hissing in the ears. Management focuses on identifying the underlying cause — noise exposure, ear disease, vascular or neurological — and combining medical, sound and behavioural therapy.
Vertigo & Dizziness
04Vertigo is a spinning sensation, most often caused by inner-ear conditions such as BPPV, vestibular neuritis or Ménière's disease. Treatment includes repositioning manoeuvres, vestibular rehabilitation and targeted medication.
Nasal Polyps
05Nasal polyps are soft, non-cancerous growths lining the nose and sinuses that block airflow and smell. Treatment starts with steroid sprays and biologics; endoscopic surgery removes larger polyps that don't respond.
Tonsillitis & Adenoid Enlargement
06Recurrent tonsillitis, snoring, mouth-breathing and sleep apnoea in children are often due to enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Coblation adeno-tonsillectomy offers a painless, bloodless removal with rapid recovery.
Deviated Nasal Septum
07A deviated septum causes persistent one-sided nasal blockage, snoring and recurrent sinus infections. Septoplasty straightens the septum through internal incisions — no change to the external nose.
Allergic Rhinitis
08Sneezing, itching, runny nose and blocked breathing driven by allergens. Managed with allergen avoidance, intranasal steroids, antihistamines and — when appropriate — turbinate reduction or immunotherapy.
Snoring & Sleep Apnoea
09Loud snoring with pauses in breathing points to obstructive sleep apnoea. Assessment includes sleep study and airway endoscopy; treatment ranges from lifestyle to nasal surgery, palatal procedures or CPAP.
Hoarseness & Voice Disorders
10Persistent hoarseness beyond three weeks needs a laryngoscopic exam. Causes range from vocal nodules and reflux to early lesions — most respond to voice therapy or microlaryngeal surgery.
Recurrent Ear Infections (Children)
11Frequent ear infections and fluid behind the eardrum can delay speech and hearing. Grommet (ventilation tube) insertion — often with adenoidectomy — restores hearing and prevents recurrence.
Blocked Ear & Impacted Wax
12Wax that blocks hearing or causes pain is safely removed by microsuction under direct vision — quick, painless, no water flushing.
Cold, Flu & Viral Sore Throat
13Runny nose, blocked ears, sore throat, cough and low-grade fever — the everyday viral bugs that circulate all year in Dubai. An ENT review rules out bacterial sinusitis or tonsillitis, prescribes symptomatic relief, and only uses antibiotics when they are actually indicated.
Persistent Cough
14A cough that lasts more than three weeks is often driven by post-nasal drip, laryngo-pharyngeal reflux or an under-treated allergy — not the lungs. Nasal endoscopy and a targeted plan usually settle it without repeated courses of antibiotics.
Sore or Itchy Throat
15A scratchy, tickly or persistently sore throat can come from viral infection, reflux, allergy, dry indoor air or voice overuse. Examination identifies the cause and treatment is matched — from simple gargles and lozenges to reflux control or voice rest.
Ear & Nose Piercing Concerns
16Painful, red, swollen or bumpy piercings — whether recent or old — can usually be settled without removing the stud. Dr. Prashanth also performs fresh medical-grade ear and nose piercings in-clinic with proper aftercare.
